My mother has been a volunteer with the Lions Club for a few years now (I believe her official title is "Kennel Cuddler") and recently became a foster mom for the second time to a teeny baby yellow Lab named Pearl. After about a year, this pup will start her formal training and one day will be a special-needs companion and life assistant, OR a highly-specialized killing machine, we're not sure yet. This is the story of Pearl coming over to my house to meet her city family:
